BAA Value in Partnership
Our team worked with the British Airports Authority (BAA) on a project with a c£2.45 billion portfolio. Take a look below at our workflow and achievements on this Organisational Development project.
Working with the British Airports Authority (BAA) on an Organisational Development project, Subash Tavares was appointed Programme Director.
The project involved developing and implementing a new organisational structure to keep everyone aligned and communicating. With a focus on separation of competencies, Subash identified the need for a programme leadership team on this project.
As part of the organisational development piece, it was important that this was supported by governance policies, and could be applied for the long-term by:
- Defining clear roles and responsibilities
- Creating an authority structure and hierarchy
- Understanding the competencies of each person
- Applying appropriate delegated responsibilities to each role.
As well as core role competencies, it was important to create a programme leadership team that had certain values, applicable to each of their positions within the project. This meant finding a Programme Delivery Manager that was customer-facing, a Programme Control Manager with experience in understanding data and information, a Commercial Manager with a commercial acumen, and a Contracting Manager that had the right level of contract compliance know-how.
Once the competencies and skills of each role was defined, it was important to clearly define the roles and responsibilities of each person, as well as implementing a structure and communications plan that successfully kept everybody in the loop.
